McKinley was awarded compensatory damages of $5,000 for mental pain and emotional distress and $100,000 in punitive damages in connection with an injury he reported to his employer in 2011.The damages were assessed against the Illinois Central Railroad Co., a subsidiary of Canadian National Railway.The company has until mid-September to file objections and request a hearing before an administrative law judge. If no objections are filed, the findings become final.According to OSHA, McKinley, an engineer at the Urbana Yard, received a work-related injury March 28, 2011, when he strained his lower back while securing a hand brake on a locomotive.He reported the injury to the 迷你倉最平ssistant superintendent later that day, and the company found the hand brake working and free of defects.The company held an investigative hearing on April 18 of that year to determine whether McKinley violated any company rules in connection with the incident. However, the strong opposition to a federally run national park, which is Quimby's dream, remains in northern Maine.Lucas St. Clair, Quimby's son and the president of the plantation board, said in a press release the intention is to "make good on our commitments to expand public access and ensure that these recreational activities are allowed from now on."However, St. Clair went further in an interview, saying the new access policy is a "dress rehearsal" for the kind of "National Park Service unit" the plantation actually is putting together in northern Maine, where hunting and motorized recreation would be allowed."The goal is to draft legislation to make sure everything that is put into place stays in place, and that it is absolutely clear what's allowed. The idea is to allow hunting and snowmobiling. And I know it can happen because I've seen (national parks) where it does," St. Clair said.However, guides and sportsmen who expressed gratitude also had deep reservations about the future.The tradition in northern Maine, where large forest companies own vast tracks of timberland, is to leave land open for recreation, and allow fishermen, hunters, boaters and hikers access to the northern forestland.When Quimby started acquiring land there and formed the landholding company in 2002, "No Hunting" signs went up."It touched a nerve," said Patten ATV club president Garth Glidden.However, starting this week within Elliotsville Plantation, 40,000 acres will offer improved access. On the land, now called "Katahdin Woods and Waters," logging roads will be upgraded and grouse and deer habitat will be improved to make "world-class hunting," St. Clair said.The 40,000 acres sits east of the East Branch of the Penobscot River near Shin Pond, Patten, Staceyville and on lands southwest of Baxter State Park.Glidden said the new policy will have a major impact, as more ATV riders along the land surrounding Baxter State Park travel between small, rural towns there."It will bring a lot of recreation into the communities, to Patten and Shin Pond and Sherman Station. Before this, we had no way to get to Shin Pond. "They essentially locked hunting out of their land and it had an impact on a number of businesses. Part of the perception is that the feds are an insatiable beast looking to expand their holding and influence, and further restrict activities. I can't imagine anyone is saying anything negative," Christianson said. "It is hard telling if they do get the national park what's going to happen. Then it will be out of their hands. Then everything is subject to change."Bob Meyers, executive director of the Maine Snowmobile Association, said a national park with a no-hunting and no-snowmobile policy, put simply, would change the face of the culture in northern Maine.He said for snowmobilers, who were written into the plantation management plan last winter, that remains a big concern."Every time land that was previously closed is open to people of Maine (the landowner) should be commended. It's the Maine tradition," Meyers said. "But I don't see it as a game-changer."However, plantation spokesman David Farmer said a national park plan, at the moment, looks at turning roughly 70,000 to 75,000 acres into a traditional national park, where hunting and snowmobiling and ATVs would be prohibited; and another half of some 150,000 acres going to a "national recreation area," where such uses would be allowed.St. Clair said the park would be created with legislation in Congress, and he will make certain the legislation maintains a level of access for all outdoor users for years to come.St. Clair said the new land access policy at the "Katahdin Woods and Waters" property is a real example of what's ahead."I realize the reservations around the federal government, but Maine has little experience with publicly owned land. Under 5 percent of the land in Maine is publicly owned. And we only have three National Park Service units and they're unusual," St. Clair said.Those three National Park Service units -- Acadia National Park, the Allagash Wilderness Waterway, and the Appalachian Trail -- offer limited insights into the variety of national parks that exist, because they are unusual in their size or dimensions, Lucas said.Both the Allagash and the Appalachian Trail are narrow travel corridors, and Acadia is small compared to other national parks that also see as many as 2.5 million visitors annually.St. Clair said there also are 70 national park units out of a total of 401 across the country where hunting and snowmobiling are allowed, and Maine could have another unit where such activities were allowed if the enabling legislation specified it.For now, St. Clair said he is focused on listening to more people and groups in northern Maine as the plantation land is used and enjoyed by more outdoors people."I don't feel (right now) like having national support is as important as having vocal support in the Katahdin region. But, increasingly, employers in the private and public sectors are eliminating those options, saying spouses must get coverage through their respective employers if it's offered.United Parcel Service Inc. confirmed recent reports that it will no longer allow spouses of nonunion employees on the company's health plan if those spouses can obtain coverage through their own employer. It will not increase premiums in 2014.The package-delivery company declined to comment further, but Kaiser Health News and USA Today said last month that they obtained a UPS memo to employees that partially attributed the new policy to health-care reform, commonly called Obamacare.About 15,000 spouses will lose UPS coverage for themselves as a result. In other cases, employees must pay a surcharge to include spouses on their health plans if those spouses can obtain coverage through their own jobs.A survey of employers this year by Towers Watson and the National Business Group on Health found that 20 percent of respondents levy a penalty for covering the spouses of workers when other coverage for them is available, charging about $100 per month. And an additional 13 percent of respondents signaled plans to do so in 2014.Though employers have used surcharges to defray health-care expenses for several years, interest in such fees among employers seems to be spiking, said Chrissy Knott, health and benefits practice leader in Columbus for employee-benefits consultant Mercer. In part, she said, that's because employers are preparing for an Affordable Care Act-related fee that begins in 2014.The fee is meant to help insurance companies pay for high-cost patients covered through the private individual insurance marketplace.The fee is $63 per member in 2014, though it is expected to go down in 2015 and 2016 and end thereafter. "Members" include spouses in addition to employees, Knott said. That is prompting some employers to discourage spouses from staying on their health plan.These types of changes are becoming more common in the public sector, too. This year, 34 percent of public employers in Ohio have some type of stipulation for employees whose spouses have other means of medical coverage, according to survey results reported last month by the State Employment Relations Board. That compares with 26 percent five years ago.Most Ohio public employers who have spousal restrictions require that employee spouses use their own employer insurance as their primary form of coverage, if available, the survey found. In Perry County southeast of Columbus, county commissioners approved a policy lastself storageyear barring their employees' spouses from being on the county's health plan if those spouses can obtain coverage through their own employers.Spouses already on the county health plan were grandfathered in when the policy took effect in May 2012.Of 266 Perry County employees who have health-care coverage through the county, 168 have their spouses enrolled, said Randy Ayers, who consulted with county commissioners on the policy. The county offers very good health benefits, Ayers said. Given the uncertainty associated with health-care reform, "we thought we needed to protect the plan."The state of Ohio charges its employees $12.50 per month if they include a spouse on the state's health plan, regardless of whether the spouse has the option of getting coverage elsewhere.Among companies that have a surcharge:--Nationwide in January began charging $50 more per two-week pay period for employees who enroll a spouse or household member on the company's health plan if that spouse or household member could obtain coverage through his or her own employer.--Express Scripts implemented a surcharge this year and plans to continue it in 2014. A spokesman would not disclose the amount.--Kroger assesses a "working spouse fee" for spouses of salaried and certain hourly employees who could get coverage elsewhere but opt for coverage through Kroger. That fee is $200 per month, a spokeswoman said.--American Electric Power assesses a monthly $50 surcharge per employee whose spouse could get coverage through his or her own employer. Of AEP's 5,600 Ohio employees who have health coverage through the utility, 1,025 pay the surcharge, according to a spokeswoman.Ohio State University, OhioHealth, Mount Carmel Health System, Nationwide Children's Hospital, JPMorgan Chase and Franklin County told The Dispatch they don't close their health plans to spouses of employees who can get coverage elsewhere, and they don't assess surcharges in such cases.The city of Columbus also does not assess surcharges, and 2014 rates won't include them, but "it very well could be a topic that's explored" in the future through collective bargaining, said Chet Christie, the city's director of human resources.In 2011, the Ohio Department of Insurance ditched a short-lived rule for businesses that purchase private health insurance for their workers instead of directly paying for the health-care coverage themselves. The rule had required those employers to extend health-care coverage to their workers' spouses, even if those spouses could get coverage through their own jobs. The bonanza will be worth pounds sterling 1.12p for each Vodafone share already held. Of this, 32p will be cash ? a so-called special dividend ? and 80p in Verizon shares.For example, if a saver has 1,000 existing Vodafone shares, they will get pounds sterling 320 in cash and roughly pounds sterling 800 in Verizon shares. Yesterday, Verizon shares traded at $46.17.Retail investors in equity income funds should also benefit as Vodafone has long been a favourite pick.Last year, the telecoms giant accounted for almost one in every pounds sterling 11 paid out in dividends by UK companies. Ask your broker if they have such an agreement. If it does, then the tax is only 15pc.And like any other shares not held in a Sipp or Isa, selling your Verizon stock will see you hit by 18pc capital gains tax if you are a basic rate tax payer (or 28pc if you're a higher earner) if you've used up your pounds sterling 10,900 annual CGT allowance. Other investors have been in touch to ask if it will be worth holding onto the Verizon stock.Richard Hunter, head of equities at wealth manager Hargreaves Lansdown, is upbeat about the company's future.But Ben Yearsley, head of investment research at broker Charles Stanley Direct, believes the Verizon stock may cause more headaches than they're worth.He says: 'The simple answer is ordinary investors should probably sell their Verizon shares. 廣州月餅團購量十年最低，自存倉這個中秋，“很受傷”的不僅僅是月餅生產企業，關聯產業鏈也受到波及，月餅上游企業的日子相當難過，訂單減少三到四成，生產月餅紙盒的供應商利潤減半，蛋黃企業則被迫將鹹蛋“變身”走“真空路線”，準備加大真空鹹蛋的產量，瓜子芝麻等餡料供應商也遇到同樣困境。全國市場一片慘淡今年月餅銷售一片慘淡，廣州市場並非個案，全國各地都出現了類似的情況。據媒體報道，受政府限制三公消費政策等的影響，上海月餅的銷售也清淡了許多。月餅生產量總體縮減、高價月餅禮盒悄然自降“身價”、月餅銷售更多地轉向企業和個人……當下正處於月餅銷售高峰期的上海各家酒店正紛紛調整策略。同樣受中央多條禁令嚴禁公款送月餅，成都月餅市場上的高價禮盒月餅受冷遇。成意品牌月餅銷量下降了一半，連來諮詢的人都很少。“來買禮盒的，大部分都是送親朋好友，選擇也是二百元左右的平價禮盒，大單很少。”鹹蛋訂貨20年最差鹹蛋黃是廣式月餅的重要原材料。位於白雲區某鴨蛋加工廠老闆謝先生表示，目前，鹹蛋黃的訂貨量只有去年同期的七成。“今年客迷你倉新蒲崗數量沒有減少，只是訂貨數量減少了。”謝先生說，減少拿貨的原因是銷售量減少了，很多大單位今年都不派月餅了。為此，今年很多月餅企業大幅減產，沒有一家企業的鹹蛋黃訂貨數量達到去年的水平，有多家企業的訂貨量甚至比去年減掉了一半。“我已將今年銷售目標下調至去年的八成，但目前來看只有七成。”謝先生說，“做了二十多年鹹蛋生意，還是第一次遇到這種情況。”餅盒廠做牙膏包裝今年多家蓮蓉生產廠家的掉單率普遍達到三成以上，不少早早照單生產的企業，遭遇資金被壓的問題。除了蓮蓉生產企業，記者從業內人士處獲悉，瓜子芝麻等供應商也遇到了同樣的“掉單”困境。“今年很慘！”某大型月餅紙盒生產企業的負責人阿非告訴記者，今年月餅盒的生意減少了一半，客戶銳減三分一，而下了訂單的客戶，訂貨量都比往年少了。“月餅盒不好做了，我們只好拉多一些鞋、牙膏的包裝生意了。但是這些紙盒的利潤是沒得與月餅盒相比的。”阿非表示，今年利潤損失近一半。臨近中秋，雖然今年月餅銷售的業績還未能完全統計，但月餅企業和上游產業鏈供應商也已早早感受到了寒意。迷你倉出租
