The results of a New Year's Day ``referendum'' organized by Occupy Central will be considered in formulating electoral reform, Secretary for Justice Rimsky Yuen Kwok-keung said.迷你倉西貢 The ``referendum'' is - to some extent - a platform for citizens to express their views, Yuen said, but stressed that any proposal must be in line with the Basic Law and the decision of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. ``To a certain extent, this is a way to express opinion,'' Yuen said. ``In the five-month [government] consultation, we hope to listen to more opinions. We are concerned about the opinions, however they are expressed.'' Asked if he will take reference from the results of the so-called referendum, Yuen said: ``We consider every opinion, and won't refuse to consider a certain opinion.'' Commenting on the New Year's Day rally organized by the Civil Human Rights Front, Yuen said all those who plan to join the march should respect the law. ``I would urge all people, whether they are participating in such activities or they are the organizers, I hope that they would do it in accordance with the law,'' he said. ``As for the messages they want to give out by participating in or organizing these activities, just like any other message that we gather from the community, we would certainly consider and take 迷你倉將軍澳hem into account when formulating future policies.'' Occupy Central organizers commissioned academics at the University of Hong Kong and Polytechnic University to set up a website asking three questions that will help shape its proposal for universal suffrage. This comes as the government continues its consultation, launched on December 4, for voting procedures in the 2017 chief executive and 2016 legislative elections. Pollsters will ask whether the nominating committee to pick chief executive candidates should be made more representative; whether candidates should be ``pre-screened'' and whether the people should be allowed to nominate candidates. The system can handle up to 800,000 online voters. Choices may be entered from 1am to 6pm on Wednesday, via the popvote.hk website or the ``PopVote'' mobile application. Identity card numbers and mobile phone numbers may be used to vote once. Polling booths will also be set up in the afternoon at Victoria Park in Causeway Bay. The organizers of Occupy Central said earlier they will continue with their rally even after the front's demonstration ends in Central, but denied it is a rehearsal for the protests planned for next summer. The result of the ``referendum'' will be announced after the rally. Another similar vote is planned for June. kelly.ip@singtaonewscorp.com 迷你倉尖沙咀
