Source: The Ledger, Lakeland, Fla.迷你倉Nov. 10--LAKE WALES -- Plans to construct a portion of a new natural gas pipeline through Polk County will be the topic of two public meetings.One meeting will be at the Haines City Banquet Hall, 799 Johns Ave., on Wednesday. The other meeting will be at the Lake Wales Art Center, 1099 State Road 60 on Thursday. Both open house meetings will run from 5 to 7 p.m.The 465-mile Sabal Trail pipeline is an interstate project intended to serve a Florida Power & Light plant in Martin County. FP&L provides electric power to customers in parts of Central and South Florida. The section of Polk County that will be affected is in the Haines City-Lake Wales area between a planned energy hub in Osceola County and the power plant in Martin County.According to general maps of the area posted on the project's website, the route appears to largely follow corridors already occupied by electric transmission lines and major highways.More detailed maps will be available at the public meetings self storagend property owners will be able to get specific information on how the project might affect them, said Jack Brandon, a Lake Wales lawyer involved in the project.The Sabal Trail pipeline is the third major natural gas pipeline serving peninsular Florida.The first was the Florida Gas Transmission pipeline, which began operating in 1959.
