Source: The Sun, Yuma, Ariz.迷你倉Aug. 14--Classroom tours are continuing this year at Yuma Union High School District campuses beginning Aug. 16.During the 2012-2013 school year, 61 community members took part in the tours, the most being at Kofa High School at 26.2 percent and second at Gila Ridge High School and Cibola High School, both at 21.3 percent.Ages of visitors spanned from 12 to 70 years of age, with 19.7 percent being from the ages of 12-17, 23 percent being from the ages of 30-39, 13.1 percent from the ages of 40-49, 9.8 percent from the ages of 50-59 and 29.5 percent being 60 years of age or older."The purpose of the tours is to share the great work teachers and students are doing through Ready Now Yuma, Career and Technical Education classes, Advanced Placement classes and elective programs. The district realizes that many of their constituents do not have school-age children. Expectations of students have changed with advancements in the world. Yuma Union High School District expects every student to graduate prepared for success in college and career," Superintendent Toni Badone said."We believe that our students are the future, and that the economic future of our community depends on our work in educ文件倉tion. Many community leaders are champions of education, but we need every community member to be a champion. We hope they will come see first-hand how hard our teachers and students are working toward a bright future for Yuma County."To allow the public an opportunity to visit local high school classrooms, YUHSD has announced upcoming tour dates for district schools to be held every other Friday throughout the school year.To sign up for a tour, visit tinyurl.com/ldrbuzg to register. Prior registration is required so schools can appropriately plan for the number of tour guides needed. Tours last from 45 to 60 minutes, and after the tour participants will be sent a survey via email.Members of the public interested in attending a campus are asked to arrive five to 10 minutes early on tour dates to allow time to get a visitor's name tag and meet the tour guide, who could be an administrator, teacher, staff member or student.
